The drive-through mass testing center will markedly increase the number of people tested for the COVID-19 virus in West Africa’s most populous nation.

“The drive-through mass testing center will make testing easier and faster for cases that meet the NCDC national case definition,” said Temie Giwa-Tubosun, founder of LifeBank.

“We know the importance of testing in the fight against COVID-19 and we believe that this mass testing center will be a shot in the arm in the national efforts targeted at flattening the curve.”

Lagos residents can check if they qualify for testing by visiting this website to register and book an appointment.

Founded in 2012 as a non-government organization called the ‘One Percent Project’, LifeBank’s mission is to deliver needed medical products such as blood, blood products, oxygen, as well as vaccines to hospitals across Africa.

It facilitates the transmission of blood from laboratories across Nigeria to patients and doctors in hospitals, delivering an average of 300 imperial pints of blood a month to more than 170 hospitals in Lagos.

This first of its kind drive through testing is one of the several innovative products and services LifeBank has created to help fight against Coronavirus. You can read about other tech startups in Nigeria as well.
